PureMail is the second game created by 0verflow. It was released in 2000, following Large PonPon (from 1999) and preceding the Pleasure Box that came in early 2001.

PM later received a 2-episode anime OVA adaptation in late 2001. The anime blends several storylines together, mostly consisting of Midori's, Yumi's, Miki's, and Eri's routes with both Ryouka's and Ai's routes omitted. Rin Sekihata, the secret heroine, also doesn't appear in the OVA.

The game is connected to its previous installment with the main heroine, Midori Nagawa, being the younger sister of Yukari Nagawa from Large Ponpon. It's also loosely connected to the School Days universe as Miki is the older sister of Taisuke Sawanaga.

A sequel called TearMail was scheduled but was cancelled in 2007.
