Hatsuka Hazama (間 初花, Hazama Hatsuka) is a main character in Snow Radish Vacation!! and an offscreen character of Summer Radish Vacation!! Via her son Shun, Hatsuka is the grandmother of several heroines of the Days series, most notably Sekai Saionji and Setsuna Kiyoura.

Appearance[]

Hatsuka

Hatsuka has fair skin along with bright blue eyes. She wears an orange plaid miniskirt along with a Mayo-chan hoodie. Her most prominent feature is her long golden-blond hair which is usually tied back with a red ribbon. Her bangs also form two fringes. She seems to have cut her hair shorter the year after Snow Radish Vacation, as seen in the photo of her with Kagura and Ms. Nijou.

History[]

Background[]

Hatsuka was Kagura's best friend. They both studied at Moteharashou and were among Tomaru's cram students. There, she and several female friends (excluding Kagura) experience sexual abuse at the hands of Tomaru, but not to the point of intercourse since there isn't enough time. She is the first one to notice that Tomaru had disappeared from Motehara the day after he had his way with Kagura, speculating that he might have left to be with his "supposed" girlfriend from the university.

Reunion[]

Nine months later, Hatsuka runs away from home to stay with Kagura as her mother is going out with another man after her father died. She is overjoyed to be reunited with Tomaru, causing Kagura to worry that Tomaru might not be able to keep his promise to her since Hatsuka is a very pretty girl.

In the true ending, the Betrothal Party, Hatsuka organizes a party with other girls for Kagura and Tomaru. She also gives her friend a floral wedding veil for her as present. Canonically, she also becomes pregnant by Tomaru, and eventually gives birth to her first son, Shun. She was also inveigled into the prostitution ring organized by Tomaru, alongside Kagura and another girl, Ms. Nijou. Hatsuka continues to raise her son alongside other girls' children but moved away around the time that Tomaru disappeared after taking away the principal of Moteharashou's fortune. She and Kagura remain in touch, and she comes to rescue her when the latter is kidnapped by a teacher. Hatsuka also bore two more children, Toki and Kuu, by Tomaru.

Summer Radish[]

Years later, Hatsuka is reunited with Tomaru again, much to Shun's disgust. After a quarrel, Shun leaves home for Haramihama to work during the summer with Kagura.

Shiny Days[]

Youkomentionhatsuka

Youko mentioning Hatsuka while conversing with her superior.

Hatsuka is mentioned to work in a Food Coordinator-related business and is Manami Katsura's superior.

In the Inori Route, Hatsuka is mentioned by Youko when she is communication with Headquarters over her management of Radish while arguing that even Hatsuka is intrigued with her plan.

Personality[]

Hatsuka was groomed by her biological father to accept parental incest as something natural, as evidenced by the adultery chart, which shows her having a child by Shun at some point. She was, however, always willing to rescue her friend Kagura, as shown when the latter was kidnapped by a Moteharashou teacher.

Etymology[]

  • Her given name Hatsuka (初花) means "First Flower of the Season". It could also be an allusion to hatsukadaikon (二十日大根), which means garden radish, tying into her family being radish farmers and her association with the Radish franchise.
  • Her surname Hazama () means "time" OR "space".
