Mai Kiyoura (清浦舞 Kiyoura Mai), formerly Mai Inou (伊能舞 Inou Mai), is a heroine in Summer Radish Vacation and a minor character in the Days games.

Background[]

Mai is the second child of Kagura Inou and Tomaru Sawagoe, as well as the second child of Kagura overall and a middle sister of Hajime, Rin, and Rina. It is unknown if Mai is aware of the true nature of her parentage.

Appearance[]

Mai has deep green hair tied into bun and a pale complexion. She usually wears a somewhat formal yellow dress with an orange rose, and reddish lipstick to go with her red eyes. Compared to the other mothers, Mai has rather slender figure similar to that of her daughter, Setsuna, along with a small bust similar to Otome's.

In Summer Days' bad ending "Succumbing to Pleasure", Mai wears a dominatrix costume along with her daughter to help her punish Makoto for cheating with Sekai and Youko.

In her teenage years, Mai sported a similar figure, but her hair and eyes are brown, and her hair is tied in ponytail with long yellow ribbon.

Personality[]

Mai has a mature and sharp personality, taking her job quite seriously. Her sharpness is shown when she is capable of realizing the similarities between Makoto and Shun despite not knowing their actual relation. In addition, she also likes to joke around and teases people, especially with her friend/half-sister/rival Youko, with whom she also competes in many situations from work place to love life. Despite her professionalism, Mai is poor in organizing, with Setsuna noting that her room is always a mess.

While Mai still holds some affection, trust, and respect for her former lover Shun, entrusting him to look after the restaurant in place of Youko instead of Sakuya, she is also willing to find a new love life as seen in the route where she seduces Makoto under Youko's nose, as well as sneaking him out behind the latter and Manami in one of the endings, and despite fighting over Youko over ownership of Makoto in the harem ending, she is also willing to cede the "number one" position to her daughter Setsuna for her happiness. In another route, Mai can reconcile with Shun, after the latter is determined to give up his womanizing and finally becomes a proper father to Setsuna.

Summer Radish Vacation!![]

In the prologue, Shun bumps into Mai while she is carrying luggage and she falls to the ground. Due to their similar appearances, Shun confuses her with Youko and because of that, he talks to her as if they were close. She misunderstands and thinks that he's hitting on her and gets angry, after which she will ask to Shun carry her luggage. Shun can decide to carry or not carry. If Shun decides not to carry the luggage, he harshly refuses, angering Mai again, and she leaves.

In some of Tomaru's events, he will attempt to seduce her until Shun interferes and disrupts him. If few or none of these events are triggered from the night of August 14th, she will become Tomaru's sex slave. Going to the Summer Radish on this night will trigger a scene where Tomaru rapes her. After this date, she will no longer appear in Summer Radish.

After Summer Radish Vacation[]

During this time, Mai changed her surname to Kiyoura and became the mother of Setsuna Kiyoura.

Summer Radish Vacation!! 2[]

Mai is briefly mentioned in an event where Rin talks about her sisters, with Rin mentioning that Mai already left home.

Summer Days[]

In Summer Days, Mai is a minor character.

Shiny Days[]

Mai's role in Shiny Day is significantly extended, turning her into another heroine with own route.

In the semi-canonical Paris for Four ending, Mai becomes pregnant with Makoto's child. Along with Youko and Setsuna, who are pregnant as well, she forces Sekai into pregnancy as well upon learning that she feels left out.

Etymology[]

Her given name Mai (舞) means "to dance". Her name shares a footwork theme with those of her mother, uncle, and aunt.

Trivia[]

Mai may have started out as an expy of Azusa Hinomori from the Welcome to Pia Carrot!! franchise. This is furthered by the following:
- The scene where she bumps into Shun is framed similarly to Azusa bumping into Kouji Maeda in Pia Carrot 2.
- 0verflow hired the seiyuu who voiced Azusa Hinomori to voice Mai in SRV1.
